This past week, I’ve had the pleasure of working on many of my classmates’ PROD 500 sets as a gaffer, DP, and PA! Thank you to all my directors for having me, I can’t wait to see all these films when they’re done!

Had a great time this weekend at the world premiere of Was Once A Hero in Tucson! Loved hanging out and catching up with all our filmmaking friends. And the film won a whole slew of awards including Best Feature! Being a part of this movie was truly a unique and magical experience! To our film family, we love you and we’re so proud of all we’ve accomplished together! Wagons ho!

Our short film, Whacked (made in 72 hours for @72filmfest) is out now on our YouTube channel!
We weren’t sure how this year was going to go after leaving Frederick behind for the west coast, but you put three people into a room with a camera, and they can make a film! The theme of obstructions this year has been our favorite theme so far, and it was really fun to figure out how to work in our obstructions into structure of our film. Hope you all enjoy it, and we look forward to next year’s 72!

Here’s the trailer to our latest creation for #72ff2024! You can catch it at the Weinberg in Frederick this Friday 10/11! @72filmfest

Very briefly back on the East Coast for @dcshorts! I had a great time at this festival and it was an honor to be a selection amongst so many amazing films! It was awesome to see Wet Paint on the big screen and to meet with so many talented people!

We’re excited to announce that we will be leading a talk all about making low budget films on a cellphone as a part of @restfestfilmfestival! The event takes place on August 17th at 3pm Eastern via Zoom. Thank you to fellow Hopkins Alum Bec Penner for inviting us to speak at the inaugural RestFest! Tickets can be purchased on the festival’s website.

Festival news for Operation: Wet Paint! We’re excited to announce that our film has been accepted into two more festivals! First it will be showing on Sunday August 25th in the Family Friendly Narrative block at @sidewalkfilm! Then it will screen in early September at @dcshorts! We’re honored to have been selected for these festivals and so glad that we get to show our film to even more people!

Well, that’s it for @wyomingfilmfest! Even though I only got to experience the weekend, it was an absolute blast hanging out in Cheyenne and meeting so many great filmmakers. Shout out to Rudi Womack and all the others behind this incredible festival! Thank you so much for having us, I’ll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful Saturday out here in Cheyenne for @wyomingfilmfest! Began the day with @whydinosaurs, which was a great documentary exploring the historical, scientific, and cultural facets of dinosaurs in our society. Got the opportunity to chat with director @pin.to.ny, who was absolutely great. Whether you loved dinosaurs as a kid or just like the Jurassic park movies, I highly recommend this film!
After that, I attended the Life & Death shorts block. @forroyfilm really stood out to me. The character of Celeste reminded me a lot of myself when I lost my grandfather to cancer as a kid.
After grabbing some lunch (and a delicious slice of cheesecake), I attended the War Stories short films. I was especially excited to watch @niseithefilm, which follows a Japanese American soldier whose family is in internment camps. My grandfather too served in the military while his family were sent to the internment camp in Rohwer. I really enjoyed seeing the story of Nisei soldiers told on film, and hope to see more of these stories in the future. Also, the film’s production design was absolutely stellar!
Now, I’m off to dinner!

Excited to announce some festival news for Operation: Wet Paint! Our film will be showing on July 14th @wyomingfilmfest as a part of their shorts block! Then it will be showing August 15-22 as a part of @restfestfilmfestival in the Pulse block! We’re honored to have been accepted into these festivals and can’t wait for more people to see our film!
